The movie is set in the late 21st century, where some peculiar power strikes the solar system that might harm human life. Son of astronaut H. Clifford McBride, Major Roy McBride, who is believed to be dead, informed that some flowing energy is traced to the Lima Project. Ad Astra was released on 20 September 2019 and collected a gross of $135 million against a budget of $100 million. It was nominated for the Academy Awards for the Best Sound Mixing. The shots of the films are beautifully captured but with little complex storytelling. The screenplay might sound like a blockbuster on paper, although it did not stand out very well on-screen. 12 Years A Slave (Metacritic score- 96)

It is an adaptation of the slave narrative Twelve Years a Slave was written by Solomon Northup published in 1853. 12 Years a Slave is directed by Steve McQueen, stars Brad Pitt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, and Paul Giamatti.

The movie was nominated for nine Academy Awards (Oscars) and won three of them, including Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Picture. It also got the Golden Globe Award for the category of Best Motion Picture-Drama.

The plot of the movie centers around a free African American man, Solomon Northup, in 1841 and is working as a violinist and lives with his family in Saratoga Springs, New York. Hamilton and Brown, two white men, offered him to work with them as a musician if he can travel to Washington, D.C. When they arrived, they drugged Northup and sent him to slavery in the United States, run by Burch.

12 Years a Slave is an important story for society, and it was also widely accepted. The movie scored 96 out of 100 on Metacritic based on 57 critics. While it holds 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average rating of 8.91/10. Ejiofor received the Best Actor award at the BAFTA Award.
