 Nubia Watch comes with an eye-catching and very futuristic look, which undoubtedly makes it stand apart from the world of classic smartwatches. It has a bright, large, and a flexible OLED screen. However, it is a bit bulky to wear, has an average performing software, and the watch has a limited set of features.

The new Nubia watch represents a future vision for the upcoming smartwatches and is packed with various sensors alongside the fitness and sleep tracking features. However, the proprietary software running on the Nubia watch does have limitations.

Nubia Watch: Design

Nubia Watch offers a folded 4.01-inch AMOLED display in the Nubia Watch. The display has 41.5 x 14.2 x 125 mm dimensions. Nubia has partnered with Schott to create the display of the watch. Schott is the same company that offered flexible glass for the foldable devices of Samsung.

The AMOLED display of the watch offers a sharp resolution of 960 x 192 pixels. Individual pixels can be seen on looking closely, as the watch carries the pixel density of only 244ppi; however it is still clear and easy to read. The screen comes to life more, and colors jump out of the screen when you select any animated wallpapers. The Nubia Watch has a matte metal frame that features two shiny and beveled sections on both sides. It has a power button on the right side and has a heart rate sensor and four pins for charging on the back. The Nubia Watch weighs over 98 grams.

Nubia Watch: Specifications & Other Details

The Nubia Watch offers a Qualcomm 8909W processor with 1GB of RAM and an 8GB of storage. It has a GPS and Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity alongside sensors like Accelerometer, pressure and heart-rate sensor, gyroscope, and geomagnetic sensor. The Nubia Watch offers a 425mAh of battery capacity and has water-resisting capabilities with a rating of IP54.

Nubia Watch: Setup

To access the Nubia Watch features, you need to download the Nubia Wear app from the Play Store on your Android device or from the App Store on your iOS device. You can then swipe around the settings from top to down. You can access the notifications by swiping up from the bottom, and in case you want to go to the app drawer, you need to swipe from left or right. With the help of the Nubia Watch, you can access Calls, Messages, Sports, Health, and various other applications and features. The watch, however, doesn’t support third-party apps at present.

Nubia Watch: Performance & Features

Using the Nubia Watch might feel like using a small Android phone strapped onto your wrist. However, the watch is pretty responsive, but the software on the watch is not that intuitive. Its large screen enables it to display a lot of content on the screen at once, but indeed to see that extra content, you will have to turn your wrist a bit. The watch has various fitness tracking features, and you also get different health-related features, including the heart rate, steps, outdoor and indoor walking, calorie counter, and more.

Even though Nubia suggests that you can use the watch for up to seven days on a single charge, yet this doesn’t seem to be very accurate as you will have to charge it every day to use, just like most of the other smartwatches.

The Nubia Watch can efficiently count the steps, measure heart rate, and can remind you to stand up when you have been sitting for too long. It can also provide you information regarding the weather updates and more.

Final Verdict

The Nubia Watch has an impressive design with a large 4-inch AMOLED display which cannot be surpassed easily, but on the other hand, it is also a bit heavy, has an average software, and it doesn’t support any third-party app currently.

No doubt, Nubia is trying to innovate, which is highly appreciable, but even after having a large display and futuristic design, the current model, according to us, is not yet worthy to be purchased, and you might regret after opting for it.
