Demon’s Souls Remake Might Bring Back Tonnes of Old Cut Content and Upgrades

FromSoftware is bringing back the Demon’s Souls for PS5. The announcement that came last month shocked even the most ardent fans of the milestone RPG. It was surprising that, before this big announcement, FromSoftware made headlines because of another new RPG they’re working on called Elden Ring. And the fact that we’re receiving a remake means it will be more than just a remaster. Thus, fans can expect a lot of new stuff in this decade-old RPG world.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?

Demon’s Souls had a significant number of enemies of varying powers and personalities. Whether big or small, each villain has been intricately detailed with a particular backstory or characteristic trait that explains their behavior. But a lot of these enemies ended up ‘on the floor of the film room.’ Many characters and specific maps didn’t make the final cut. Since Sony has announced a remake of the game on the PlayStation 5, we can expect these cut out villains and places to make an appearance in the new version.
As the name suggests, the Demon’s Souls had a dark themed storyline revolving around souls and demons. When in an arrogant show of power, a king uses forbidden magic, the world turns on its head. The kingdom is suddenly filled with soul-devouring demons and their dark fog. Everything turns blurry and repulsive. The player is playing a fantasy wanderer who is roaming around this lesser world to fight the dark spirits. To your dismay, you are overpowered by an enemy and wake up in the unchartered territory. This is a chamber by the name of Nexus, and here’s where you meet a Maiden in Black. She accuses you of being the reason for a great many demon deaths. You are the gatherer of demon souls.
The PS3 exclusive was a class apart in its time and set up the foundation for a masterful RPG franchise. Demon’s Souls was the OG of the Souls franchise. And the new remake should contain unique content, polished features, and, most importantly, way better resolution with a generational jump in technology since the original version came out means that the remake will have almost doubly better graphics.  But possibly the most awaited addition would be the unused Broken Archstone map. This was a map that didn’t make the cut last time around speculatively due to technical limitations. Since that won’t be a problem in 2020 on PS5, we should get ready for a new part of this world.

ARE THERE NEW ENEMIES AROUND?

With a new map, comes new enemies. These are the ones that weren’t added to the original edition. In the Broken Archstone, players will come across many different enemies. First is a mimic called ‘Chomper,’ then there’s the bow and sword-bearing army of the Serpent Soldiers. If that weren’t enough, you’d also find a Yeti Monster in this place, who is famous for having a mouth for a stomach. (Yes, it’ll eat you.)
There were some other enemies as well planned for this map, and fighting situations that could’ve been. There’s a lot of scope in this game that the makers left in this map by cutting it out. It is a maze-like design inside the map which was planned to end with a climactic fight in the huge castle. Who or what you’ll encounter there is still unknown or better yet unmade.
We hope that the developers finish up with the remake fast and the extensive fan base the game has created over the years, receives a new rendition to its old classic fable.
